Flechten schaffen Welten, in denen sich ein Organismus zu einem Ökosystem entfaltet und ein Ökosystem einen Organismus speist. Sie wechseln zwischen ihrem Selbst und der Ansammlung ihrer Teile hin und her. Wo beginnt ein Organismus, wo endet er? Das Material dieser künstlerischen Forschungsarbeit umfasst Klang-, Foto-, Videomaterial und digitale Scans von Flechten, um ihr transformatives Verhalten in Bezug auf Form und Zeit zu entschlüsseln. Die Konzentration dieser Arbeit liegt in der Kunst des Wahrnehmens, um die ungeahnten Realitäten dieser Organismen zu erfassen. Entstanden ist eine immersive und bewegungssensorische Installation, die Fragen nach den Kommunikations- und Beziehungsmöglichkeiten zwischen menschlichen und nichtmenschlichen Organismen eröffnet.

Lichens create worlds in which organisms unfold into ecosystems, and ecosystems feed organisms. They oscillate between their own identity and the sum of their parts. Where does an organism begin and end? This artistic research project uses sound, photographic, video and digital scanning material to decipher the transformative behaviour of lichens in relation to form and time. The project focuses on the art of perception to reveal the unimagined realities of these organisms. The result is an immersive, motion-sensory installation that raises questions about the potential for communication and relationships between humans and non-human organisms.
