Estimating the cooling time during injection molding

Until now, the cooling time for injection molding could be determined using an estimation formula. However, this formula is only applicable if the thermal conductivity of the mold can be assumed to be very high. In rapid tooling, on the other hand, molds with low thermal conductivity, such as those made of concrete or plastic, are used. The formula does not provide any usable results for such molds. Therefore, a new formula was derived that takes into account the thermal properties of the mold.
